Update, April 4, 1:52 p.m.:
Police issue statement on assault with a deadly weapon:
– On April 4, the Paso Robles Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of 2nd Street near Vine Street. Officers and EMS arrived on scene and found a 24-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to the left shoulder.
“The victim was heavily intoxicated and could only tell officers he believed the suspect left the scene in a silver car,” police say. “He also advised he was alone at the time of the shooting and there were no witnesses to what had occurred. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Original report, April 4, 6:47 a.m.:
Man shot early Saturday morning at 2nd Street in Paso Robles
–At 3:35 a.m. Saturday morning, Paso Robles Emergency Services responded to the 500 block of 2nd Street for a report of a man down in front of a house.
When residents in the area heard what sounded like gunshots they went outside and found a man down on the ground on the walkway between the home and the sidewalk. The victim had a gunshot wound to the upper left shoulder. He was transported to Sierra Vista Medical Center.
Police went door-to-door in the neighborhood early Saturday morning asking residents for doorbell video footage of the scene.
Local residents on the scene said the victim was shot at the home of Trevon Perry, and was a friend of his. Perry is a local man who went missing last month. Police and his family are seeking information on his disappearance.
Perry, a former Paso Robles High School student, was last seen on March 14 wearing a black NBA sweatshirt, black skinny jeans, black low-top Vans shoes, and a blue LA hat. He is described as 145 lbs., 5-foot-6-inches tall.
