–Last night, around 10 p.m., a Paso Robles Police officer was patrolling the neighborhoods on Meadowlark when the officer observed what they called a “shady-looking truck” parked at the dead-end of Meadowlark near Airport Rd. Inside, officers contacted Jennifer Cavish and John Bell, both residents of Bakersfield.

During a probation search, officers discovered hundreds of pieces of mail along with numerous Amazon packages, all stolen from Southeast Paso.
Also located in the truck was meth, shaved car keys, burglary tools, license plates, and a homemade community mailbox master key that granted the thieves access to several community mailboxes in Paso, according to police. They also found homemade community mailbox master keys for Tulare, Visalia, and Bakersfield. mail theft paso robles

Cavish and Bell were arrested on multiple charges related to the thefts.

Community Volunteer Patrol members helped sort through the mail after the incident. They reportedly had mail from over 100 addresses from the following streets: Sleepy Hollow, Inverness, Sycamore Canyon, Winding Brook, Running Stag, Oxen, Rambouillet, Larkfield, Crystal Canyon, Little Quail Place, Creek Sand, Silver Oaks, and Spyglass.

All letter mail will go back to the post office for delivery. Opened mail that cannot be delivered was shredded. The police department says it has the names and addresses of everyone associated with the packages located in the vehicle, and someone from the department will contact you to get the packages to you. The police ask the public to not call dispatch asking if they have your package and inundate the phone lines. mail seized paso robles theft
