City alerts citizens to suspicious water device door-to-door sales

Police department is encouraging residents to report any similar encounters or suspicious behavior

– The City of Paso Robles is alerting residents about suspicious door-to-door sales of water treatment devices, with claims that the products are “from the state.” The warning follows a report from a resident on Lana Street, who informed city staff of an encounter with an individual making the claim.

City officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and take precautions to protect themselves from potential scams. They recommend the following safety measures:

  • Do not provide personal or financial information to unverified individuals or companies.
  • Request identification from anyone claiming to represent a company, agency, or government entity.
  • Verify claims by contacting the relevant state or local agency before making any decisions.
  • Report suspicious activity to the Paso Robles Police Department.

The Paso Robles Police Department is encouraging residents to report any similar encounters or suspicious behavior. “We urge the community to remain cautious and to report any unusual or concerning activity,” the department stated in a press release.

Residents can report door-to-door solicitors with suspicious claims by calling the police department’s non-emergency line at (805) 237-6464. In an emergency, residents should call 911.
